The Client

Terra Tonics is an exciting young farm specializing in micro-greens, gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, and specialty varieties. Their products are all chemical free, and are as interesting and vibrant as the people growing them. Brogan & Harrison have a desire is to develop more resilient and health-focused farming approaches. They want to establish a recognizable farm brand that helps highlight how food grown with human and planetary health in mind can prolong good health and sustain vitality.

With that in mind, they wanted a visual identity and online platform that represented their vision and their farm. Something confident, consistent and fun that audiences would get excited about. A brand that would be easily recognizable anywhere it went.

So, that’s exactly what we did! A complete brand build from the bottom up, including a new logo, new website, new packaging designs, new brand assets, and more.

The Challenge

Designing for Terra Tonics Farm posed several distinctive challenges. We needed to capture the essence of their sustainable farming practices while conveying the premium quality of their produce. Balancing the diverse appeal of micro-greens, mushrooms, and specialty items presented a creative challenge. Additionally, we had to ensure that our designs not only showcased their commitment to organic farming but also attracted health-conscious consumers.

The mission was to capture the essence of Terra Tonics Farms’ sustainable farming journey and transform it into a visual and narrative experience that would resonate with their target audience. We envisioned a brand identity that would evoke friendliness, freshness, and a connection to nature while highlighting the diversity of specialty products they offered.

Upon project completion for Terra Tonics Farm, we delivered a comprehensive set of assets to enhance their brand and online presence. This included a versatile logo design symbolizing their commitment to sustainable farming. Our web design emphasized user-friendly navigation and SEO optimization for increased online visibility. We provided packaging and merchandise designs that conveyed their eco-friendly ethos and premium quality. Engaging content narrated their sustainable journey, and our SEO services boosted online discoverability.
Early on, Harrison and Brogan identified a desire to craft a logo that embodied the uniqueness of their farm and their desire to provide a truly different experience than that of your traditional agricultural business, while maintaining a connection to the farm’s ethos of sustainable farming. The centrepiece of the logo was a big and healthy Oyster Mushroom, one of their premiere products and a symbol of the potent force and growth of nature. Abstract designs and features were utilized in its creation to help further drive the unique qualities of the brand. The anthropomorphized Oyster Mushroom quickly became a standout mascot for the farm, accompanied by various other produce in its variations, showcasing the farm’s many branches of specialty products and categories. The colour palette, inspired by earthy tones, conveyed the natural and organic aspects of their produce.
The approach to web design was to create an online presence that reflected the farm’s youthful and fun brand personality, as well as their commitment to freshness and quality. I employed a clean and intuitive layout, with small nods to micro greens and other produce within the layout, and high-resolution images capturing the farm’s lush varieties. The website emphasized the farm’s chemical-free practices, making it a hub for health-conscious consumers seeking premium, organic produce.
For their product packaging, I designed labels that mirrored the simplicity and vibrancy of the brand’s identity. Monotone colour schemes, simplistic illustrations, and clear, concise labeling reinforced the farm’s commitment to chemical-free, natural products. Each package provided visual information to customers about the many uses and benefits of Terra Tonic’s many uncommon products, acting as a source of inspiration for customers who may not be knowledgable in the best ways to consume them.
Through strategic marketing, we amplified Terra Tonics Farms’ message to a much wider online audience. SEO-based campaigns, blog posts and more celebrated the farm’s unique offerings, shared recipe ideas, and educated consumers about the nutritional benefits of micro-greens and mushrooms, amongst other products. Alongside TTF, we aimed to foster a community of like-minded individuals who valued healthy living and sustainable choices.
